A San Antonio native, Rees traveled to New York in the 1930's where
she studied at the Art Students League and at the National Academy
of Design. She studied with Henry Brackman and Leon Kroll in New
York and Harry Anthony DeYoung in Texas. She illustrated several
books including Walter Prescott Webb's Texas Rangers (1935).
