Lloyd Moyland studied at the Minneapolis Art
Institute, Art Students League, and at the Broadmoor Art Academy. He
later taught at the Broadmoor for 1929 to 1931. He specialized
in art themes depicting Southwest Indians and used a semi-abstract
composition technique in many oils, watercolors and prints. He
received work as a WPA muralist in 1938. A talented artist his
he obtained commissions for other murals which were painted in
numerous New Mexico and Colorado venues. He was the curator at
the the Museum of
Navajo Museum of Ceremonial Art in
Santa Fe for the last five years of his life.
