Mamie Jones Noble was born in Waxahachie. She studied with Frank
Reaugh, at the Art Institute of Chicago, with Cyril Kay-Scott and
James Blanding Sloan. She began exhibiting with the Southern States
Art League in the 1920’s and was active into the late 1940’s in
numerous competitive exhibitions across Texas and the South. Her
work was chosen for display in the famous Texas Centennial
Exhibition of 1936. She was as a director for the Texas Fine Arts
Association from 1935 -1945.
