Mary
Frances Doyle was born in Stephenville. After training in art
education at Southwest Texas, Columbia and Texas State College for
Women in Denton she began a long career as a public school teacher
in Dallas. She was later to direct education for the Dallas MFA.
Using her summers to study with Otis Dozier, Octavio Medellin,
Xavier Gonzalez and Kenneth Loomis she gravitated to printmaking. As
a member of the Texas Printmakers and other Texas art groups her
combination of superb design and technical mastery can be found in
the finest art collections in Texas.
