Robert Pearson McChesney (b. 1913)

Robert Pearson McChesney is an abstract expressionist painter, printmaker, sculptor and teacher. A WPA artist during the 1940s, he assisted Anton Refregier with the murals in San Francisco's Rincon Annex Post Office. After WWII he joined the faculty of the California School of Fine Arts, taught at the California Labor School, Art Department and served on the San Francisco Art Institute Board of Directors.
