Vera
Turbeville
Edelbrock was born in Fort Worth. She attended Texas Christian
University where she was to study under her mentor Samuel Ziegler.
She later studied with Sallie Gillespie and Bror Utter. Graduating
from T. C. U. in 1930 she became the first person to obtain a Master
of Arts Education from T.C.U. She was an art teacher for Fort Worth
I.S.D. for over 35 years with a long exhibition career. She was
president of the Fort Worth Art Education Association and was an
active in the Art Department of the Fort Worth Woman’s Club and
served as art advisor to the club. She was also active as a member
of the Art’s Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County.
