William H. Blackman was born in San Diego. He spent most of his
early years in West Los Angeles. He was a commercial artist before
turning to the fine arts. He became a successful artist selling
seascapes and landscapes. His works were sold by Aaron Brother
Galleries and later Davis Galleries across the United States. His
Texas landscapes became highly popular and he created paintings from
of the vistas of Texas from Padre Island to the Hill Country.
